The Chamber of Southwest Florida Leadership Lee County Program Offers Low-Cost, High-Value Employee Retention & Development

The Chamber’s Leadership Lee County program (LLC) is a one-time investment and a valuable tool for recruiting, retaining, and developing key employees. Leadership Lee County is a proactive series of retreats, seminars and site visits designed to expose current and emerging leaders to Southwest Florida’s greatest challenges and opportunities. The 12 week intensive program begins with a look at our community history followed by a retreat. Full-day sessions follow every other Friday for the next 12 sessions ending in April, see the attached calendar. Full -day sessions begin at 8:30 am with a networking luncheon and conclude generally by 4:30 p.m. A graduation dinner and celebration conclude the program activities and celebrate the new community leaders joining the auspicious alumni group.

Regional Program that Spans Four Counties
This unique program helps newcomers as well as long-time residents understand the dynamics of the Southwest Florida community and region through visits to organizations in Lee, Collier, Charlotte, and Hendry Counties. Through a series of retreats, seminars and site visits, emerging leaders are exposed to an overview of government, education, healthcare, the environment, and quality of life issues in the community.
Tallahassee Days Provides Understanding of State Government
A 2-day trip to Tallahassee to meet our state legislators is a highlight of the LLC experience giving participants the opportunity to represent Southwest Florida businesses, convey the viewpoint and needs of our community to our state representatives, and learn more about our state government and how it works.
Building Servant Leadership & Community Involvement
The program strives to strengthen and serve the community with an intensive interactive learning experience that focuses on the concepts of servant leadership. The goal is to develop a core group of professionals who are willing to serve first and then lead; ultimately becoming community trustees who volunteer to improve the quality of living for everyone in Southwest Florida. Each class culminates with a group project designed and implemented by class participants to benefit the community through sweat-equity or fundraising activities.
Workforce Development
The program is an excellent workforce development tool for employers, that will orient your key team members to the community and prepare them to act as effective ambassadors for your business. As part of the program, a personality profile is provided to each participant with training that will help them understand their communication style and that of others, preparing them to build successful professional relationships and cohesive project teams.
