Local employers have expressed the need for a program that addresses the challenge of retaining newly relocated executives. To meet this need, The Chamber of Southwest Florida has designed Connect2SWFL, a program that builds on the legacy of our Leadership Lee County program, the oldest and most prestigious leadership program in SWFL.
A Warm & Friendly SWFL Welcome!
Connect2SWFL is intended to welcome new leaders and their whole family to the region! It starts out with a one-day retreat to a local resort where the adults learn about their colleagues through personality profiling and team-building exercises, while the kids enjoy supervised age-appropriate activities with their new friends. The day ends with a welcome reception where families can get to know each other better. The time commitment for Connect2SWFL takes into consideration the busy schedule of relocating executives with adult receptions that last a few hours and family outings that are scheduled for Saturdays. Classes will meet twice a month for 3-4 months, with a schedule of activities customized to the groups’ interests.
Why Connect2SWF?
Connect2SWFL helps protect your recruiting investment by:
- Fast-tracking new recruits’ assimilation to SWFL
- Welcoming the whole family to our local community
- Connecting relocated families to area resources
- Building lasting friendships
- Promoting strong community connections
Program Highlights:
The program begins with a survey of applicants to assess interests and tailor each class experience to the families who attend. Receptions are adult-only and are intended to introduce new recruits and their partner to the top business, government, and nonprofit leaders in SWFL. An example program would include the following:
- 1 Daycation Family Resort Retreat
- 4 Exclusive Receptions with SWFL Leaders
- 1 Cultural Entertainment Night
- 1 Family Ecotour
- 1 Family Picnic Graduation
- Fee: $5700/Family
As Gary Avin, LCEC Director, Chamber Board Chair, and LLC Graduate says, “It all starts with the amazing relationships you are going to create.”
