The Horizon Council is a public-private board established in 1991 to advise the Lee County Board of Commissioners on economic development issues and provides vision, guidance and support to the Lee County Economic Development Office (EDO) in its mission to:

• Help improve the business environment in Lee County

• Retain and encourage the expansion of existing business

• Attract new and diversified employment to the area

The Council has up to 90 members representing: municipalities, chambers of commerce, economic development and trade organizations, community, business, and education organizations, along with various officers and at-large members.

General Membership Meetings are held at Florida Southwestern State College, Building U, Room 102
